Honoring My Son Matt on Memorial Day

Matthew and Legend

Matthew and Legend

I want to honor my son Matthew Slaydon on this Memorial Day. Matt is Air Force Special Forces, EOD, (bomb squad) now retired. He volunteered for a 3rd tour in Iraq and he was doing his work of making Iraqis safer in Baghdad by defusing roadside bombs.  As he examined a suspicious area for a bomb, a buried device was set off possibly remotely by someone in the crowd. The blast took his eyes and an arm and put him in the hospital at death’s door for months, and over a year of surgeries and physical therapy. Matt, you are a hero in the truest sense of the word, not because you were hurt, but because you knew the risk, and you took it, and now you embrace the changes and choose life as the new Matt. This day is for you. I am proud to be your Mom and you are the best of all of us.

Free Leads From Facebook – 6 Easy Steps

Take advantage of the social media revolution to explode your network marketing business and generate free leads from Facebook. Millions of people are connecting on Facebook. Build a list of friends already potentially interested in your opportunity. It’s easy and effective; simply approach each new Facebook friend as in person: best foot forward, taking time to get acquainted, and build mutual trust. We would never blast a new friend with “Nice to meet you and by the way I am the greatest network marketing coach and join my amazing fabulous one time opportunity!” Who would behave that way at a party? People would run like a mouse from a springing trap, and rightly so!

Here are Six Easy Steps:

  1. Your profile – magnetize it!
  • Does it show who you are?
  • Not enough information? Too much?
  • Your picture? Or your business logo
  • Your real name? Or business name? People follow people, not products.
  • “About Me” section overloaded? Create a sparkling snapshot of your personality and values. Include life outside of your business.
  • The box below your profile photo.  What is your life theme? What do you really want others to know about who you are?
  • Resist the urge to put business links in this box. Blog and Twitter links go here. Before joining someone in business, we want to know, like and trust them. Anyone can offer an opportunity – only you can offer you.
  • Show your business acumen on your blog. Show yourself on Facebook.
  • Your profile can show you are in network marketing, but be subtle.
  • Invite friends to visit your blog, then into your opportunity on your blog.

2.  Find friends interested in Network Marketing

  • Join groups devoted to network marketing or likely to have members interested in networking. Find member profiles with similar interests who demonstrate receptivity to meeting other networkers – often presents as a good number of friends.
  • Write several short introduction notes and save in a file.
  • Click on “Add As Friend,” then on “Send Message” and paste your message. Example, “Hello Ann, I see we are both fans of Mike Dillard. I enjoy connecting with people of similar interests and I would like to be your Facebook friend.” The personal note sets you apart.
  • Craft different notes and alternate. Sending same note too often alerts the spambots. If this happens, stay off Facebook for 24 hours.
  • Thank them on their Wall when they add you.
  • Add up to 50 friends a day (NO MORE) without alerting the spambots. Don’t risk losing your account.
  • “This takes time!” Yes, it does…and you are building your list, the crucial element of your networking business, a most worthy use of your time. Read the rest of this entry

Attraction Marketing Secret – Be Yourself

What is the secret to attraction marketing? When we first come into network marketing, we begin to hear about the principles of attraction marketing. And a question we all ask and must answer is, how do we present ourselves so that others will want to work with us?

We live in a society that emphasizes that appearances are everything. We learned as children how to put on the right face for the right occasion, hoping others would approve of us, like us, and we would know success. But with the maturing influences of life experience we wise up. We learn the folly of trying to build a life based on manufacturing a false self to try to please everyone. In achieving emotional balance, we finally understand that the very best way to build solid relationships is, Be Yourself.

Attraction marketing relies upon the very heart of this principle. The only way we can hope to attract others to us, who come to know, like, and trust us, is to be absolutely and authentically the best us that we can be.

Plying ourselves at learning the intricacies of network marketing begins a marvelous personal transformation. We learn how to connect with so many people. We master social media, writing articles, making videos. We learn that interacting with a helping heart produces deeply satisfying and nurturing experiences.

Most of all, the ongoing study mastering network marketing is investing in ourselves, which naturally grooms us to become more and more personally developed, more and more skillful, and have more and more to give to others.

I was recently blessed to have a new signup into my company. And I have listened to this bright young man talk about his plan for making videos, and how he is going to present himself, and I congratulated him on his profound understanding of the principles of attraction marketing.

He spoke of how he would never even talk of network marketing when he meets people. He instead will just let them get to know who he is: his noisy little children, his menagerie of dogs, his tattoos and the tattoo shop he runs, his artwork, his pet praying mantises, his rock guitar playing. He says he knows he won’t attract everyone, just those who resonate with the authentic self he puts out there. And those are the people he wants to work with. Meanwhile he is studying leaders and motivational coaches and taking trainings constantly. It’s going to be fun to watch the rise of this star. Attraction marketing at its best!

The secret of attraction marketing is to be a magnet! And the way to do that is to practice a deep personal generosity of self. Invest in personal growth, learn, expand, and be real. Be yourself! And then take the great human being you are, and you become and give it all away.

Meet the attraction marketing mentors who are grooming the rising star I wrote about and start promoting your authentic self too!

Practice “First Mind”

It doesn’t matter which side of the fence you get off on sometimes. What matters most is getting off. You cannot make progress without making decisions. Jim Rohn

It is time to release a lifetime of conditioning that wants us believe that others know better. In the East, choosing without hesitation is sometimes referred to as using our “first mind.” Second mind is fear-driven and leads to paralysis. We must find the courage to practice using our first mind. We will get better at it!

Onward Through the Fog!

For every disciplined effort there is a multiple reward.
Jim Rohn

We can hope so! We all have those days, or weeks, when we are working toward our goal diligently, faithfully, without reaping any reward other than knowing we are moving toward the goal. Hearing these encouraging words from those who were once where we are is most comforting. Keep on keeping on!

Sow, Then Reap, Then Give Away

Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become. Jim Rohn

We keep hearing the same message again and again. Success is being of value to others. And we become of value to others first by investing in ourselves. Raise ourselves up to be the best, the most, the highest of what is possible. Then give away the crop we have sown within.
